When Something’s Wrong – Strategies for the Workplace
You are invited to attend a workshop put on by the Canadian Psychiatric Research Foundation (CPRF) and sponsored by Cowan Benefits Consulting on mental illness in the workplace.
Date: November 13, 2007
Time: 8:00 am – 10:30 am
Location: Cowan Building
705 Fountain Street North
Cambridge Ontario N3H 4R7
Background:
The resource book entitled “When Something’s Wrong: Strategies for the Workplace” was designed to provide human resource professionals, business executives and the broader community with resources and strategies to address mental illness in the workplace.
The accompanying workshop has been designed to provide information about:
- The issue of mental health and how it impacts the workplace.
- Ways you can tackle mental health issues in your organization.
You will then get the opportunity to begin to lay the groundwork for a plan on how to deal with mental illness in your workplace.
All attendees will receive a copy of the resource book “When Something’s Wrong: Strategies for the Workplace” and receive a high level overview of the information contained in the book.

Who Should attend?
The workshop is geared to have company representatives attend as a small group. There will be time during the workshop where we will have you discussing your organization and mental illness impacts, and considering next steps specific to your company. This discussion will take place within your small group.
We believe the group should include a key decision maker (CEO/COO/CFO), and the appropriate champions for your organizations. (For example: HR Manager or key HR team members, those handling disability management issues in your workplace, key union representatives)
RSVP before November 10th
Please RSVP to Carol-ann Turcotte at 519-650-6365 ext 31604 or at carol-ann.turcotte@Cowangroup.ca before November 10, 2007. This session is free and open to the first 25 organizations who register.
Once you register, we will be in touch with you to give you a bit more information about the session. There is a small amount of “pre-work” we will suggest you do and bring to the workshop to make it more valuable when you attend.
