In 2009 the Canadian Psychiatric Research Foundation and the Mental Health Partnerships of Canada also hosted the first annual Open Minds Across Canada Mental Health Symposium. On Saturday November 7, 2009 seven sites in Canada - Vancouver, Winnipeg, Hamilton, Kingston, Ottawa, Montreal, and Halifax – hosted free half-day workshops which profiled a range of mental health issues targeting the general public across Canada to help build mental health awareness.

The 2007 Open Mind Workshop Series
The 2007 Open Mind series delivered workshops throughout the Greater Toronto Area (Toronto, York and Peal Regions) and in Calgary and Quebec. Mental health professionals, educators, youth justice workers, social service providers and family members from across the country received information on new research findings and best and promising practices relating to youth and mental health.
